Rahim Rasa，formally known as Abdul Rahim Rasa obtained his Ph.D. in Safety Science and Engineering from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2025 under the supervision of Prof. Weiguo Song. Dr. Rasa innovative research focuses on modeling and analyzing human–obstacle interactions during stairway evacuations in high-rise buildings, revealing the mechanisms of spatial cognition and behavioral decision-making in complex environments, and developing experimentally validated simulation models to predict crowd evacuation dynamics. He is passionate about integrating building design, spatial analytics, and human mobility research to enhance safety and resilience in complex infrastructures. His work seeks to address challenges in evacuation dynamics and human behavior modeling through innovative, data-driven approaches. In recent years, Dr. Rasa has participated in two projects including a National Natural Science Foundation of China project titled: “Generation, Transmission, and Mutation Mechanisms of Forces in High-Density Crowd.” He has authored over seven research papers, with all of them being indexed in SCI and EI.

Currently, Dr Rasa is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the SKLFS at USTC, where his research interests include Fire Safety Science, Evacuation Dynamics, Emergency Management, and Human-Environment Interaction. By applying advanced computational modeling and experimental analysis, he aims to deepen the understanding of human dynamics within complex building environments and support data-driven strategies for safer and more resilient urban systems.
