Abstract: In this paper, an extended OTSU image recognition method in conjunction with RGBL and stripe segmentation is proposed to recognize fire shape in an enclosed compartment. It has better performance in fire image recognition accuracy. By analyzing fire behaviors, it is found that jet fire is stretched at oxygen-controlled stage. The average fire height at fuel-controlled stage, maximum fire height and fire stretch ratio increases slowly as the injecting pressure is not more 1.0MPa. Evident jumps of maximum fire height and fire stretch ratio occur at the injecting pressure of 1.2MPa, and they reach about two times.
