Abstract: Full-scale fire experiments have been conducted in a long underground corridor to study the characteristics of smoke movement and species variation. The velocity of the smoke transport and the species concentration are measured and calculated in different conditions. It is indicated that the role of the exhaust fan on smoke movement is totally uncertain in the long corridor under the different circumstances. The difference of the transport velocity with respect to the gas phase and the solid phase in the smoke is reported on the basis of experiment.
