Abstract: Compress air foam (CAF) which seems to be an excellent option for its high performance of fire fighting ability, anyway the stability of CAF which is highly related to its draining characteristics needs to be known. In this paper the draining process of the compressed air foam from class "A" foam agent was studied in the concentration range of 0.3%-2.4% which was found to be a function of time. We proposed an empirical model to describe the draining process, and some other characteristic parameters were also investigated. In our research it was found that foam concentration has a great impact on the draining process and the empirical model fits the experimental results well which could be used as a guidance in CAF application.
