Abstract: This paper presents an extended integral model using char oxidation under different ambient oxygen concentrations to predict the pyrolysis of wood. The char oxidation kinetics from TGA experiments is embedded in an integral model. Comparison with experimental data shows that the predictions of mass loss rates and temperature profiles within the charring material are in reasonably good agreement with the experiments.
