The National Key R&D Program of China “Key Technologies and Equipment for Ground-Air Collaborative Fighting of Forest and Grassland Fires”, led by Prof. Jie Ji from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science (SKLFS), has held the first annual progress meeting of the project on December 3, 2024. The purpose of the meeting is to self-check the first annual progress of the project in the execution period, and ask the project advisory group’s opinions for the following research work.
In the first year, the project have made significant breakthroughs in five aspects including: fire line identification and fire site reconstruction technology based on multi-terminal data fusion, fire situation rapid inference technology based on data driven and fire spread risk assessment index system, dynamic optimal commanding and dispatching technology of ground and air fire fighting forces, ground-air cooperative fire isolation belt setting technology and multi-aircraft cooperative fire control technology, and emergency communication support technology and equipment. Prof. Jie Ji gave a detailed presentation of the phased breakthroughs to the project advisory group, which consists of 11 experts, including three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Then, the project advisory group members gave their suggestions for following research work of the project.
The project focuses on the development of ground-air collaborative firefighting technologies and system for forest and grassland fires, and aims to enhance the national firefighting capabilities for forest and grassland fires.
