From October 6 to 8, 2024, the SFPE 2024 Annual Conference & Expo was held in Louisville, USA. During the event, our PhD student Ting Xia (supervised by Prof Yu Wang) from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science at the USTC was honoured with the prestigious Frederick W. Mowrer Global Scholar Award by the SFPE Foundation, in recognition of her outstanding research on fire safety in informal settlements. She was invited to present her latest research through a poster session and engaged in in-depth discussions with attendees.

Additionally, during the award ceremony, PhD student Haonan Chen, president of the SFPE Hefei Student Chapter, accepted the Gold Award for Chapter Excellence on behalf of the chapter.
