Achievements |
| Qifan Liu is a Professor of Atmospheric Chemistry in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at University of Science and Technology of China. Prior to this, he obtained his B.S. in Chemistry from Hubei University in 2011, and completed his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2016, under the supervision of Professor Maofa Ge. He was a NSERC Visiting Fellow at Environment and Climate Change Canada working with Dr. John Liggio from 2017 to 2020, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto working with Professor Jonathan Abbatt from 2020 to 2022. His current research focuses on understanding the atmospheric transformation chemistry of emerging contaminants from both indoors and outdoors as well as the associated environmental and human health impacts. Some of his ongoing projects include environmental monitoring and risk assessment of emerging contaminants, atmospheric oxidation chemistry of airborne contaminants, health impacts of aerosol particles, and measurements of indoor volatile organic compounds. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals including Nature, PNAS, Science Advances, and One Earth.
