| Achievements |
| In recent years, Prof. Hu has presided over one project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and one supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities. Prof. Hu also participated in several projects supported by FONDECYT Initiation (Chile) and MEXT (Japan). Prof. Hu’s work focuses on development of high-fidelity computational approaches, like LES-based model, to simulate the flows combining radiation, turbulence and heat-transfer with complex phase change and chemical reactions. His research interests also lie in the design and use of experimental and numerical tools to understand the fundamental aspects of fire spread and extinguishment under influence of various external conditions, i.e., flame retardants, pyrolysis & conjugate heat transfer.
