Dr. Hideki Yoshioka holds a B.A. degree in Architecture in Study of Urban Fire Spread Considering Openings (2001), a Master of Engineering degree in Study on Generation of Firebrands from a House on Fire (2003), and a Doctorate in Mechanism of Urban Fire Spread Caused by Firebrands (2006), all from The University of Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Hideki Yoshioka is a member of Architectural Institute of Japan, Japan Association for Fire Science and Engineering, Society of Fire Protection Engineers, International Association for Fire Safety Science, ISO/TC92 Japanese Committee. From undergraduate though doctoral course, Dr. Hideki
Yoshioka has concentrated on research of building fire protection under kind supervision of both Professor Sugahara and Associate Professor Noguchi at The University of Tokyo. After working for Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport for one year, he restarted his fire research at Building Research Institute. Also, he has been a part-time lecturer of fire protection engineering at the University of Tokyo. In 2011, he was transferred from BRI to NILIM with promotion to the position of senior researcher.
