Abstract: Lining materials are widely used in buildings to cover walls and ceilings. Combustible linings may produce a potentially high fire hazard in buildings, once ignited, propagate fire and accelerate the enclosure fire growth. Focusing on the practical situation of lining materials in China, block board lining material and plywood lining material were chosen. The test was conducted using the ISO 9705 room, which linings were mounted on walls only. By changing the fire output and the ventilation etc, heat release rate of different lining materials had been researched. The paper not only investigated the effect of test conditions on the heat release rate of different lining materials, but also provided useful experimental data for the further development of numerical modeling to simulate enclosure fire growth lined with combustible materials.
