Abstract: Three full-scale fire tests in which a single glazing assembly used ordinary 4mm thick float glass was exposed to different oil pan fires in the centre position of ISO 9705 room (3.6 mx2.4 mx2.4 in) were conducted. The glazing assembly was exposed to a two zone fire enclosure environment at each oil pan fire evident from the enclosure gas temperature profiles. The results presented include heat release rates, enclosure and local gas temperatures, exposed glass surface temperatures, shaded glass temperatures, crack patterns and loss of integrity of the glazing assembly. The results obtained can be used for the estimation of the occurrence of cracking and failure of single glazing assembly in performance-based fire prevention design.
