Abstract: Hierarchical microspheres of Mg-Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) assembled by nanosheets were fabricated in large scale through a simple sonication-assisted method in a mixed solvent of ethylene glycol and water. The MgAl-LDHs nanostructures showed much higher efficiency in decoloring the dye of Eriochrome Blue Black K than that of the conventional platelet and particulate Counterparts, which could be ascribed to their relatively large surface area.
