Abstract: Layered nickel and cobalt hydroxide compounds have been synthesized via a simple hydrothermal growth method and their chemical formulas are established Labyrinth-like nickel and cobalt oxide porous sheets were prepared using their layered metal hydroxide compounds as precursors by annealed at 500 degrees C for 3 h. both of them have stable sheet framework and large pores. The factors of the formation of the novel porous Structure were investigated and their catalytic properties have been studied (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V All rights reserved
