In the morning of July 30, 2010,Professor Jennifer Wen, an internationally renowned expert in fire safety at Kingston University in the UK, visited State Key Laboratory of Fire Science. She gave presentations entitled as “Numerical simulation of large scale detonation” and “Predicting gaseous and dense phase CO2 decompression behavior in the context of CO2 pipeines for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)”. After the presentations, detailed discussions on research collaborations were made with the staff and students of the laboratory.
Prof. Jennifer Wen received her Ph.D. degree in University of London in 1990 and has been working on computational fluid dynamics for several decades. Her research Interests focus on Large Eddy Simulation (LES), Hydrogen combustion in the context of fire and explosion safety, Flammability study of hydrogen, hydrocarbon and mixed fuels, Vapour cloud explosion and detonation, Accidental release of gaseous and dense phase CO2 during pipeline transmission in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) context. Recently she is a member of Combustion Institute (British Section); IChemE; International Association for Fire Safety Science; Steering Committee Member of the UK Explosion Liaison Group and a reviewer of International Journal of Hydrogen Energy、Fire Safety Journal and so on.
