Project Title: Research on the micro structure and acceleration propagation of methane and coal dust hybrid flame

Abstract: 

In order to investigate the flame micro structure and the flame acceleration propagation of the hybrid gas and coal dust, the high speed micrography and high speed schlieren system are used to get the micrograph of the hibrid flame of gas and coal dust during the stage of accerleration with a homemade transparant combustion chamber. The ion probe and minuteness thermocouple are also used to explore the ion distribution and temperature distribution near the hybrid flame front. According to the theory of laser light scattering, the high power argon ion laser and high speed micrography are introduced to study movement and the combustion characteristic of the coal dust particle near the flame front. Based on the movement of the particle, the flow field in the combustion chamber is analysed. Combined with the experimental results and the basic theroy of combustion, fluid dynamics and chemical reaction kinetics, the flame micro structure of the hybrid gas and coal dust is researched. The influence of coal species, size of coal dust particle, coal dust particle concentration and gas density on the hybrid flame structure and flame acceleration propagation are studied. The results will both enrich flame propagation theory of two phase flow and provide the robust theory foundation and experiment basis for preventing gas explosion and coal dust explosion accidents.
