Abstract: This project is mainly concentrated on the smoke hazard with respect to the space-time during the smoke propagation. The research work is on the foundation of a reduced scale experiment with many conditions varied, focusing on the mass loss rate of the common combustible materials and the smoke concentration variation. The measurement of the smoke concentration has been classified as sigle ponint at remote location and the scattering multi-point coving the full spacee according to the research objects. Some important conditions of controllment have been selected to analize their effect on the somke hazards, especially the ventilation opening between the fire room and the corridor, the smoke exit size and the decoration material in the fire room. The full size experimetn is also carried out in order to testify the feasibiliy of the established reduced scale experiment. Meanwhile, the primary meathod has been set up to evaluate the smoke hazard based on the database of the experiment, furthermore, the some hazard effect on the occupant evacuation is also carried out primarily.
