| Achievements |
| Dr. Qiyuan Xie has about 10 years’ research experience in the field of fire science and technology. His research interests mainly focus on fire spread, combustion characteristics of new materials, as well as innovative methods and technology for measuring typical products in fire. As an active and energetic young researcher, Dr. Xie has been teaching “Fire Safety Engineering” to final-year undergraduates in the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science in USTC for several years. He is now an experienced lecturer for that course.
Dr. Xie has published nearly 60 papers in international journals, such as J. Hazard. Mater., J. Thermoplast. Compos. Mater., Fire Mater.，Build. Environ., J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transfer and J. Fire Sci.. He is also a co-author of the book Fire Detection and Signal Processing, published in 2006. Four patents of him have been authorized. Being the responsible person of several research projects in the areas of fire behavior of typical building items, fire spread, glass breakage in fires and light scattering by smoke particles, Dr. Xie is experienced in the development of theoretical models, as well as the design of new experimental setup aiming at the specific needs originated from the fire protection engineering. |
