IAAI-FIT^®

A credential for personnel who have general experience in fire scene investigation without exclusive fire investigation specialization, such as fire officer, fire marshal, and insurance adjuster. This designation is based in job performance requirements in NFPA 1021, NPFA 1033, and NFPA 1037.

IAAI-ECT^®

A credential for personnel who are tasked with evidence collection related to fire scene investigation. This designation is based in job performance requirements in NFPA 1021, NPFA 1033, and NFPA 1037.

IAAI-CI^®

A certification for instructors who teach fire investigation and related skills. This certification is to the NFPA 1041 standard. Instructors from any discipline are welcome to apply for the certification.

Motor Vehicle Fire Endorsement

Attached to an IAAI-CFI or IAAI-FIT credential, the (V) endorsement demonstrates that the credential holder has a fundamental understanding of how to properly investigate fires involving motor vehicles.
